SMARTer Kids Foundation launches US$255,000 competitive Grant program to enhance technology integration in law schools across North America

The SMARTer Kids Foundation Law TECH Grant covers 60% of list price for SMART products

Calgary, Alberta --- August 11, 1999 --- In today's technology-driven society, legal professionals are increasingly challenged to implement technology effectively in the courtroom and the boardroom. To enhance technology integration in law schools, the SMARTer Kids Foundation announces a US$255,000 competitive Grant program for the purchase of SMART products. Open to law schools in Canada and the United States, the Law TECH Grant covers 60% of the list price on a SMART Board 560 or 580 and Floor Stand 570, or Rear Projection SMART Board 1602 or 1802. With SMART products in law schools, a new generation of technology-savvy lawyers will learn to produce high-tech, compelling cases.

"Technology is revolutionizing the legal system," says Sandra Walliser, managing director of the SMARTer Kids Foundation. "Law schools must ensure their graduates have the skills and knowledge required to use technology in courtrooms and law firms. In the hands of lawyers who have the skills and knowledge to use it, technology is a powerful and effective tool that influences juries and wins cases."
