Cave Creek, Arizona

Billionaire made a friend at Desert Willow right away..our school mascot...the roadrunner. The roadrunner is a bird that is pretty common in Arizona and he helped Billionaire learn about the desert.

Billionaire came right into class and read to us from his trip journal. We loved learning about Canada, England, California and looking at all of the neat things packed along for his trip!

Billionaire and roadrunner went out to the Cave Creek Recreational Area for an up-close look at the desert. This is a local park wher you can camp, hike, and play on a fun playground. Behind our friends is a mountain with lots of saguaro cactus. These are giants of the desert and Billionaire was really interested in them.

So much so he thought they were trees he could climb..ouch Billionaire!

Billionaire sitting in front of a teddy bear cholla cactus. He really didn't understand that name since the cactus is not at all soft and cuddly like he was. When Billionaire wasn't checking out the desert, he spent each night and day with our class of 20 great 2nd grades. They wrote in his journal about his adventures at dance, church, parties, dinners, and doing homework. We sure will miss you Billionaire. Have fun in South Dakota!
