Before Iceberg had been to G.R. Davis Elementary.
Hey Iceberg!
People should come to our school because our library is so awesome! It has tons
of books! It’s so wicked. We also have some great teachers. Our principals
are nice people. We have lockers and those are way better than closets. They
are also long ones, unlike the half ones. They also have little hooks on them
for your coat and backpack and other stuff. There is a shelf on the very top
where you can put your books and the teachers let you put pictures on the door
of your locker. It rocks at this school.
Luv, Camille
Dear Iceberg,
Iceberg, you should come to our school. We have lots of fun stuff here. We get
snow and a gym where we play fun games. We play dodge ball – that’s
where you throw soft foam balls at each other and if you get hit, you are out.
There are many different kinds of dodge ball. We also have lots of computers
where we can play games on and write stories.
The snow hasn’t fallen yet. It sure is getting cold though. The white
soft blanket will soon fall onto the world making everything white like clouds.
The leaves in Canada are starting to turn red, yellow and brown. The trees
are losing all of their leaves and it’s soon to be winter.
Regards, Thomas
Iceberg,
Our school is great because most grade sevens don’t get recess but we
do and we get one hour of playing a recess. Our teacher always lets us play
dodge ball in you gym. Our teacher is fun. She’s even letting us get a
pet if it’s okay with our staff. We do lots of fun stuff in LA and Math.
I’m playing on our school’s volleyball team. It’s my first
game today after school and it’s against my brother’s team. On Sunday
I made the AA hockey team. It’s fun.

Dear Iceberg,
G.R. Davis has great teachers and has a great library and great books. We have
really interesting subjects but you probably do too. We have a pretty big gym
and lots of games to play in the gym that our teacher Ms. A is teaching us.
I think we are going to have a pretty good band this year and play lots of songs.
We also have nice computers in the computer lab. We have a nice playground and
field to play on and have fun. I like to play soccer and just have fun. My favorite
subject is Math and my favorite thing to do is read if I have the time.
Sincerely, Rebecca
Dear Iceberg,
The reason you should come to G.R. Davis is we have nice teachers, students
and a nice environment. Our lunch food is great and the library is full of great
books. You could do research on anything. You’ll find out that we have
fun option classes like you could be in French, Band, and learn how to sew,
cook and act. The computers have a lot of fun games. We have a gym with lots
of things to play with. You could join a drum and dance group if you would like.
That’s all the great things about G.R. Davis.
From, Joel
Dear Iceberg,
Come take a visit at G.R. Davis and play a game in our wicked sweet gym or buy
something from our concession and eat or read in our quiet room, play soccer,
two hand touch or play basketball. We have a huge library full of everything
you’d ever need to know about. We also have other fun games like bump,
tether ball, fumble, baseball and kickball. We also have plays once in a while
and sometimes we have talent shows. The year end video is one of my favorites
because this year we’re doing the year end video and it’s pretty
good so far. If I were you, Iceberg, I’d come to G.R. Davis and have a
pretty good time.
From, Keagan
Dear Iceberg,
There are three reasons why you should come to G.R. Davis school:
1. We have really fun sports like volleyball, basketball and mini-rugby.
2. We have fun classes like Band and Drama.
3. We have really fun teachers.
Those are three reasons why you should come to G.R. Davis school.
From, Kristie
After Iceberg had been to G.R. Davis Elementary.
We’ve been having fun with Iceberg in Fort Macleod, Alberta, Canada. We’ve
taken pictures of our star and even brought some friends for Iceberg. His friends
are a tiny polar bear named Little Bear and a very big, brown bear named Big
Bear. (Keagan)
Iceberg has been great here. We have taken many great pictures of him and
also done reports on different bears. He’s been hanging around with Uncle
Big Bear (that is a stuffed animal that a student brought here). Students have
brought some of their stuffed animals here so it’s been great fun. It’s
also cool that Iceberg is traveling around the world. (Thomas)
Some of us in the class took pictures of Iceberg and wrote stuff about him
doing whatever he is doing. We all are doing different bear reports on eight
different kinds of bears. We have had tons of fun with Iceberg since he got
here. We hope to have this much fun with him when he gets back. (Dustin)
The class and I did a bear report on any kind of bear. I did a Sun Bear. Some
of my classmates took pictures of Iceberg doing things like climbing a tree,
playing on the rings outside and sneaking out to his locker and getting his
books. (Josie)
It has been a lot of fun having Iceberg here because we have learned lots
about bears. We have done bear reports, taken lots of pictures of Iceberg, and
lots of other stuff. I can’t wait until he comes back. It is a lot of
fun. (Keeyah)
We have been playing with Iceberg every day. It is fun to take pictures of
Iceberg at our school. Some of our pictures are of him playing with us a recess
time. We take Iceberg everywhere we go – to the library, PE, computer
lab, and even outside for recess. All the kids in our class enjoy having Iceberg
in our classroom. We hope the rest of the world enjoys him as much as we do.
(Larissa)
We have been doing bear research and bear reports during class. We’ve
been taking pictures and writing captions above the pictures. While we are doing
work, Iceberg will come and sit on our desks. (Cole)
We have been doing bear reports on bears and playing in leaves with Iceberg.
We have been playing hide and seek. We have played lots of fun games with Iceberg.
(Ryan)
We have been taking tons and tons of pictures of Iceberg. We have been doing
research on bears as well! He is keeping everybody happy and giving us lots
of company. I hope he likes our school and wants to stay! (Camille)
