Molasses

Molasses is at Little Hocking School in Little Hocking, Ohio. Molasses was introduced to the kindergarten children on Monday, September 13th. We talked about his name and why he might have that name. He is brown like Molasses. The children did not know what molasses was so I brought some in and we all tasted it. It is the same color as Molasses' fur.

To welcome Molasses to our classroom, we had a Teddy Bear Day and brought our own bears so Molasses would feel "at home". "We played Teddy Bear Turn Around with Molasses and our own bears," said Elizabeth W.

We had bus safety lessons this week and Molasses had to learn how to be bus safe. "Molasses put his body out the window of the school bus and he wasn't suppose to do that because he could have flown out the window," said Julia.

One part of our kindergarten day is to have a rest time. We have friends to rest with called "rest buddies." They keep us company at rest time. Molasses takes a rest time with us. "We showed our rest buddies to Molasses," said Mitchell.

During our story time each day in September, we are hearing Curious George stories and learning about the authors H. A. and Margaret Rey. "Molasses is looking at Curious George books,” said Max.

We love having Molasses with us. He is going home with Amber tonight for an overnight stay. If you have any questions about Molasses, or us send us a message. We will write back. Have a "beary" great day!
