October 15, 2004 Well it is my last day at Frank Hobbs until I come back in May and I know the children will miss me. They are looking forward to hearing about my adventures as I travel around the United States. I did get my picture taken with Mrs. Head so I may be part of the school staff photo board. I think the children will think that it is funny to have a bear on the teacher board. The vegetable soup made by the children was very delicious. We chopped up carrots, tomatoes, beets, sugar peas, onions, potatoes and 2 kinds of cabbage and added corn and peas and alphabet letters to make it. I think it was the first time chopping for some of the children but everyone helped. On the Thanksgiving weekend I went on the ferry with Mrs. Head. Victoria is located on the tip of Vancouver Island so you have to take a ferry to get to the rest of British Columbia which is part of Canada. When you look on a map you will see where I've been spending the last month and how close Victoria is to places in Washington State too. I have visited many interesting families here in Victoria and one third of the families speak another language at home. This week I went to the dentist and passed my checkup. I also got to go to a hockey practice. It has been a short week at school because we had Thanksgiving on Monday so it is a day off here in Canada. The children are excited about today because we have a presentation by the Mad Science group and in the past they have made a hovercraft that one lucky child has had a chance to ride. I wonder if I'll get a turn or maybe I'll be in my box and on my way. See you soon,
