Building a Story
Students divide a piece of paper into six parts. In the first section they write
the beginning of an adventure story with the ImagiNations teddy bear as the
main character. For the remaining five sections, they pull an object out of
the ImagiNations box and incorporate it into the story.
Personal
Reflections
Students write a letter home, from the perspective of the ImagiNations teddy
bear, that describes what the student has done at school that week, what went
well for the student and what the student should work on in the upcoming week.
Book Talk
Students are provided with a variety of books about bears or teddy bears. Students
make a selection and create a presentation about the book for the class. Students
chose from a variety of forms such as soap sculptures, mobiles detailing the
main events, a letter to a friend, a poster or a diorama as a way to share the
book.
