Fables
Students create a fable about the ImagiNations teddy bear. For example:
“How Sizzle Got His Color” or “How Hero Got His Name.”
Bulletin Boards
To demonstrate how language and visuals work together to enhance meaning, students
create a classroom bulletin board about the ImagiNations teddy bear. Photos,
captions, maps and other found and created objects are all posted on the board.
Perspective
Writing
To construct meaning from text, students read “The Three Bears”
(or another bear-related story) and rewrite it from a different point of view.
A good example of this is The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by
Jon Scieszka – the classic fairy tale written from the wolf’s perspective.
