On May 27, 2009, the SMARTer Kids Foundation welcomed 32 sixth-grade students and 8 of their teachers from across North America to Calgary, Alberta, for an exciting week of interpretive tours, activities and excursions. This visit celebrated the students’ one-year participation in the Connections program with an opportunity to meet one another face to face.
During their week in Calgary, the students and teachers visited the following attractions: the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, the Banff Gondola, O.S. Geiger Elementary School, SMART’s world headquarters, and the Royal Tyrrell Museum.
The students and teachers stayed at a camp, where they engaged in a variety of activities aimed at building friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
