Once accepted into the Connections program, teachers will be brought to Calgary for a week of professional development. During this time, teachers will do the following:

Meet the other participants with whom they will be
working closely over the upcoming year |

Learn how to use the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and other donated technology products |
 |
Be introduced to and further develop and define the mandated
collaborative learning projects set out by the Connections program manager
for the upcoming year |
 |
Visit some of the educational and tourist sites in and around the city that will be part of the Calgary student visit |
Costs
Costs covered by the SMARTer Kids Foundation include airfare, accommodation, meals, local transportation and admission to Connections-sponsored activities during the teacher professional development. Souvenirs, personal photography, personal transportation, meals and snacks not arranged by the Foundation, alcoholic beverages, product installation and substitute teaching costs are not covered by the Foundation.
