Nancy Knowlton, Executive Director of the
SMARTer Kids Foundation welcomes the National
Teacher of the Year Nominees to the 2002 Technology Training Session.
All of the National Nominees participated in a technology
training session to learn about the products they receive from the Foundation
as part of their Teaching Excellence Award. The training began with Bob
Hana and Stacey Force of NEC Solutions America, Visual Systems Division
presenting the NEC VT 45 projector. Jessica Williams and Jason Brindel
of AlphaSmart, Inc. followed with an overview of the AlphaSmart 3000 portable
keyboard.
Training continued with a feature demonstration of the SMART Board interactive
whiteboard, courtesy of Carmen Shippy of SMART Technologies. After
a lesson on the board's features and functions, the teachers were sent
off into groups to do some hands-on activities.
Congratulations to all of the teachers Class of 2002, TOY Tech-Training
graduates!
