My teaching philosophy
The essence of teaching and learning has not changed since Plato. However through the utilization of today’s technology, teachers can compete for the attention of students in the multimedia world of sound, action and vibrant images that they have grown accustomed to. If students can be engaged in a memorable way, the knowledge, skills and attributes that we are trying to instill may take root.

My philosophy in action
At present I am using all of the technology that I have to spice up my lessons, guided and independent practice and evaluation to make each experience a memorable one.

My greatest teaching accomplishment
Being awarded the 2004 Smarter Kids Foundation Innovative Use of Technology Award.

The most critical issue facing educators today
Getting students turned on to learning and increasing their "willingness to learn". We are competing with the flair of X-box and game cube and the dynamics of Lord of the Rings for their interest level.

Ways to resolve this issue
Spice up all aspects of the student learning experience (including presentation, practice and evaluation) by taking advantage of the technology that is readily available today.

One thought to inspire other teachers to succeed
Treat your students the way that you would like your own children to be treated by their teachers.

One lesson every student should learn
Learn for the sake of learning.
