My teaching philosophy
My philosophy of teaching is to create a pragmatic approach for my students
to learn through self-actualization of the concept being discussed.
My philosophy in action
Each unit, assignment and lesson builds upon the knowledge base that the students
have acquired. Through their reading, writing, and developing of critical thinking
skills, the students learn the practical understanding of the concepts presented
in the classroom. They are given the tools to explore the concept and slowly,
but methodically, visualize the significance of what is being taught and to
apply it to their lifelong learning skills.
My greatest teaching accomplishment
Former students tell me that the classes that they took from me prepared them
for college and/or their careers. I realize then that I was effective in the
classroom and did make a difference in their education.
The most critical issue facing educators today
The No Child Left Behind Act is the most critical issue facing educators today.
Ways to resolve this issue
Educators must be committed to providing the best education for their students
by becoming life-long learners, communicate effectively, and becoming accountable
for what they teach.
One thought to inspire other teachers to succeed
As educators, we are the front runners of pursuing what education in the 21st
Century will be. We must rise to the standards developed and seek the means
as to what makes effective teaching and effective learning. The end product?
Our students becoming productive young citizens in our society.
One lesson every student should learn
Some days the dragon wins, and some days you will win. Education is the armor
to withstand the dragon's fire.
