My teaching philosophy
I believe that each child is special and unique. It is my job as a teacher to
create a meaningful learning environment where each child wants to learn and
feels successful
My philosophy in action
Each day I try to connect with the children in my classroom. I want them to
know I care about them. I try to create meaningful learning opportunities that
will engage and excite the children.
My greatest teaching accomplishment
My greatest teaching accomplishment is being awarded the 2005 Excellence in
Teaching Smarter Kids Foundation Innovative Use of Technology Award.
The most critical issues facing educators today
One of the critical issues facing educators today is funding. Education is a
dynamic institution that changes each year, and, as such, there are many new
initiatives and curriculum changes that must be implemented into our programs.
Schools are challenged to keep up with technology, changing textbooks and curriculum
in the classroom. Schools also need to provide a variety of services, supports,
and resources to meet the needs of all the children in our classrooms.
Ways to resolve this issue
A greater emphasis and awareness must be placed on education so that it becomes
a priority. If we can convince the public that education should be a top priority
and should therefore receive adequate funding, then our educational system will
be more effective. If we want our children to be successful, then we must provide
the funding and resources necessary.
One thought to inspire teachers to be successful
Always be genuine with children, and you will develop relationships with kids
where they want to learn.
One lesson every student should learn
If you try your best every day, then you know you have done a good job.
