Teaching philosophy
My philosophy of education is based on respect for the humanity of every one
of my students. Every student I have is just as human as I am.
My philosophy in action
My philosophy allows me to develop a fantastic, trusting rapport with my students.
When I have their trust, they can go on to do amazing things in class.
My greatest teaching accomplishment
Every time I see a student successfully complete a postsecondary program in
one of my areas of teaching, and going on to pursue a career in the business
of film/television or theatre.
The most critical issues facing educators today
Embracing technology in the classroom - teaching with colleagues who are technophobes
and unwilling to integrate technology into their programs.
Ways to resolve this issue
Demonstrating student success with examples of projects which integrate technology
into curriculum.
One thought to inspire teachers to succeed
Instead of focusing on what students can't do, believe in what your students
are capable of achieving.
One lesson every student should learn
In group work, your job is to make the rest of your group look good. If everyone
has this outlook, the whole group will shine.
