During the 2006 NTOY Conference hosted by the Council of Chief State School Officers, January 24-28, 2006, the SMARTer Kids Foundation and sponsors of the Teaching Excellence Awards hosted a day of technology training for 2006 State Teachers of the Year.

The training included sessions offered by SMART, NEC, Immersive Education and eInstruction, and introduced the teachers to the technology products they received as part of their 2006 Teaching Excellence Award. Teachers enjoyed hands-on opportunities to see how the technology they were awarded could be used in their classrooms.
