My teaching philosophy
Teaching is an opportunity to inspire and empower. As a teacher, it is my goal
to enhance student learning as a transformative experience. Ideally, I want
students to feel personally changed by their participation in a course I am
teaching.
My philosophy in action
I want students to feel personally changed by their participation in my classroom.
I focus my philosophy of teaching by generating discussion about learning and
empowerment. As a marketing teacher, I have to create a real business scenario
and the participation of my students is necessary as a starting point. Because
they can give their opinions, they feel part of the theme that I am discussing.
My greatest teaching accomplishment
There are two aspects of my development as a marketing teacher that contribute
to my accomplishments. The most important is that I never give up on any of
my students. Because I teach high grade levels, I try to make my class like
a preparation for the University. As a marketing teacher I have to place my
student in a job. The best sensation is when they feel responsible for their
jobs, they work hard and realize that they have talents and are important.
The most critical issues facing educators today
Lack of supervision from parents and contribution from private sectors.
Ways to resolve these issues
The parents have to support their children's attending school functions and
responding to school obligations. They can become more involved by helping their
children improve their schoolwork, arranging for appropriate study time and
space, modeling desired behavior and monitoring homework. Also, they can volunteer
with school activities.
The private sector may take the initiative to Adopt-a-Public-School. All levels
of government have not been funding education adequately and the private sector
will help with that part.
One thought to inspire teachers to succeed
Every day, I try to make a positive mark in my students.
One lesson every student should learn
“Nothing is impossible when you try with your heart.”
